Last weeks activity was wonderful! The food was great and the program was too. Here are a few notes from the ladies who participated in the program:
In the scriptures, it says "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." -Matt 22:37-39 First we are to love the Lord. Second he asks us to love others. But before that, we must love ourselves. That is often easier said than done. "C.S. Lewis once said that if we could recognize who we were, we would realize that we were walking with possible gods and goddesses whom, if we could see them in all their dignity and glory, we would be tempted to fall down and worship. Because this is true, we need to think more highly of each other." -Jeffrey R Holland
From Leah: Find out who you are. It's our God intended right to be loved. When you find yourself, you find Christ.
Merle: How do we demonstrate love to ourselves? 1. Respect our bodies, 2. Keep ourselves pure and clean, 3. Appreciate who we are, 4. Forgive ourselves.
Mary: Shared "Satan's hidden arsenal against women" from http://www.insideoutminds.com/home/arsenal. Read it! It's wonderful. Also F.L.Y.=First, Love Yourself.
Jewel: Sang "Give the Gift" by Tyler Casteleton
Paula: Don't compare. Like yourself. Do the best you can. It's a life long process. God sees me as the person I like.
Tanya: Ask yourself, would I want to be anybody else other than myself? Learn more of the atonement. Rely on the Savior. Remember He knows what we are going through. Endure, do the best you can and you will find peace. "How cool is it that the same God that created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too?"
Naoma: Loving yourself is a journey. Have a good attitude. Appreciate all of your good qualities. Be grateful for what you have, who you are and for the Savior.
Sharnell: Judge not that ye be not judged. Discover your truth. See yourself as the Lord sees you. Be yourself. You will be happiest when you do what the Lord asks you to do.
In the end, we learned that "True love only comes when self-love is already there."
Thank you so much to all the sisters who helped make this evening happen. We greatly appreciate your participation. We also greatly appreciate and love all of you!
